Our strategy

OPTIMISATION OF EXISTING SERVICES

optimisationIs there any way of performing the same services at lower cost to our clients without it affecting our profit margins?

The main problem encountered by service companies in the computer sector is the sales and renewal cycle of their projects, and the level of uncertainty this causes. In simple terms, winning a project involves many commercial cost-generating activities. Furthermore, and by definition, a project is limited, which means the same sales cycle must be started again each time. A company basing its activities on this type of service must maintain a necessarily high profit margin to ensure its survival and this is not compatible with current market constraints.

One of the options possible is to delegate resources to clients for long or short periods. This can provide a reduction in commercial expenses, and therefore a reduction in costs, while ensuring a recurrent source of revenue. The problem is that this model is damaged by the phenomenon of competition now coming from foreign service companies and many Swiss companies are not set up to meet this effectively. Most of them are subject to significant administrative and hire costs and the company lifestyle to which they are accustomed does not enable them to react without risking heavy losses. To survive, some are now trying to play the quality card but this choice almost always proves disastrous.

The first thing we can learn from this is that this type of service can only be performed in a competitive manner, without major international groups such as, for example, Hewlett Packard or IBM, by light-weight structures that can restrict their hire, administrative and commercial costs to a minimum without sacrificing the quality of recruitment, training and the general prospects offered to employees.

The second thing we can learn is that ideas for providing recurring services for companies must be developed. This is mainly for SMEs, which do not have the means to engage the services of specialists but nevertheless need to benefit from all the advantages of a modern IT structure.
